This Graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy moved from serving as a Captain in the Air Force to serving his community as a civilian and as a human-rights advocate. After completing his full active-duty military service commitment to his country, Reichen separated from the Air Force and began a career in Hollywood with a promise to himself and anyone paying attention-- that he would be in the public eye but would not hide, or be ashamed of, his sexual orientation: “After serving in the U.S. Armed Forces for 9 years, gay and in the closet, I’ll never understand why anyone would give up, for ANY reason, their freedom to be who they are. The military taught me about the word ‘integrity’ but their bigoted laws never allowed me to fully practice what it meant.” Listed in: |
